What is the fix for the error message in MKS 2009 for the "Cannot obtain registry lock" error when you check in/check out a member?

Traceability between PTC Integrity and Enterprise Architect

$

Hi,

we want to create a connection between Integrity Items from PTC and packages/ elements from Enterprise Architect. Both tools have IDs with which they can be identified clearly. In the forum I read that there are several possibilities to get data out of PTC Integrity such as using command line scripting, running reports, using gateways, web services, API or trigger scripts.

My question is, which of these possibilities would you suggest when you want to connect one integrity item with one or more Enterprise Architect package/s or element/ s. Is there a way using a standard feature of PTC Integrity which helps the developer to get that task done with less changes in Integrity or do you suggest a self-made program which writes in each tool the specific ID/s from the opponent's tool to help the user for example to find the suitable UML diagram in the Enterprise Architect for an already open requirement integrity item of PTC Integrity faster?

Thanking you in anticipation.

Dan

CSV Import Tool

In my opening blog post, I asked for feedback on what content MKS Customer Community users would like to see migrated to to Planet PTC.  Matt Giltaji had asked for a posting of the CSV Import tool.  After some digging, I believe I've found the files Matt had referred to.  I have attached them to this post.

CLI for Workflows & Docs, item history

Hi all,

Just started to work with the CLI for Integrity 2009 and I can't figure out how to get just the history for an item.  im viewissue  --showHistory 75941 includes the history with a bunch of other info, any way to get just the history info for the item?

My end goal is to get the history for every ID in a document which I would do by looping over the IDs in the document, is there a more elegant way to do this?

Thanks,

Eric

Is it possible to export label values and revision numbers using Gateway?

$

Hi there,

Looking to upgrade to our Integrity server (currently at 10), and one of the features we want to use is the revisioning of items introduced in 10.1.

As far as I know the labels could not be exported to Word documents via the Gateway in version 10.

Does anyone know if the new major and minor revisions at the item level can be exported to Word docs? This would be extremely important to our workflow for both documents, and each content item within the documents, as we still rely heavily on the exported Word  docs for distribution.

Thanks!

Hello Jayaram,

It is usually recommended that you use the same version as the server that you are on.  Your system administrator should be able to supply you with the version of Integrity client which matches up to your Integrity server.

Having said that, there are a number of possibilities which could explain this.  Please call Integrity Technical Support if you require further help with this issue.

Get GUI selected member information

$

Hi to all,

I use Integrity Client 10 and would like to be able to get in a programmaticall way, the selected member informations (like name, path in the sandbox etc)

on each click done on a member in the client GUI.

I know that this is possible but I am not sure how to get the event "onClick" on the member in sandbox view.

The documentation for MKS Integrity 2010CLI Reference Guide does not help in this regards.

Please advise,

Adrian

How to filter for members with certain labels

$

Hello,

The Project Manager did not checkpoint his project but only applied labels to members.

Now, he is trying to retrieve all members which have a certain label.

The Filter feature in Configuration Management, "Members at Label", only applies to whatever exists on the current configuration of the project.

Is there a way to find all members of this project (also the dropped ones) that have a certain label? Maybe a CLI command?

Thank you

cristina

add a new member in mks using the java mks api: mksapi.jar

Hello

I am working at java tool which connects at the mks source integrity server that add new members in an mks project.

I read the following documentation

{

}

and I found java sample code only for connection with the server:

}catch (APIException e) {

###

{

IntegrationPointFactory ipf = IntegrationPointFactory.getInstance();CmdRunner cmdRunner;

try {

cmdRunner = ipf.createLocalIntegrationPoint().getCommonSession()

.createCmdRunner();

cmdRunner.setDefaultHostname(

"myserver");

cmdRunner.setDefaultPort(7001);

cmdRunner.setDefaultUsername(

"IntegrationUser");

cmdRunner.setDefaultPassword(

"secret");

e.printStackTrace();

}

However I have not found in the above documentation a sample for adding members in mks source integrity server using the mks java api.

Would you give me a sample code that do that or pointing me another documentation for the mks source integrity java api ?

Hey guys,

Integration of MKS into MATLAB Simulink

$

Hi,

I'm a student from germany working on the integration of MKS into MATLAB Simulink. Via google I found out that there is a possibility to directly link Simulink Blocks to requirements in MKS, but it seems there is an addin or something similar needed (called mksmathworks.exe), to accomplish this integration. My Version of MATLAB meets all the requirements mentioned in this document

ftp://ftp.mks.com/pub/support/integritysoln2009/integrations/Mathworks/readme.htm

and I'm owning a full license of MKS Integrity 2009.

Is there anybody who can tell me how to conduct this integration of MKS into MATLAB and where I can get this mksmathworks.exe, mentioned in the link above.

Many thanks in advance

Niklas

Integrity help needed for emailadvance.js script to send link pointing to the originating server

$

Want to know if anyone knows how to have the link that emailadvance.js sends in the body of the email to point back to the actual URL: location that the email was sent from.

In other words if I have an email rule that sends an email to someone from the staging server, I want the link to point back to the staging server not the production. It appears this is a hard coded process from the parameters passed in to the script.

This causes issues when testing and the test causes the trigger to fire it sends and email pointing to production instead of test. I know it can be done some way because if I use a link from the Issue number, ie. User id, on the staging side it sends the link pointing to the staging server not production

output from "si viewprojects...", how to sort subprojects?

$

Hi @all,

we have a quite complex structure in our projects in Source Integrity. And sometimes our users are doing checkpoints with label, and then they realise that the label is wrong. And as you know, deleting a projectlabel doesnt work recursive (hmpf!). So we wanted to do this with a script via commandline. For this we want to know which subprojects are child-projects from this point in our structure where the label was set and (important) which of them are shares. If we look at it like this:

si viewproject --project=<name of the subproject which was checkpointed> -Y

then we get a text, in which the structure is shown by the numbers of spaces in front of each line (this is a very special idea i have to say). But even worse: this isnt very reliable (we filed this already as a bug to PTC-support), because sometimes it doesnt count correctly (there are not the right numbers of space-chars).

If we use the parameter --xmlapi we get a xml-structur, but i didnt found any information how the subproject-structure is mapped into this xml? All subprojects are laying parallel? And if i wanted to look which subproject is a child of another, i have to parse the attribute-entries?

An example. This is the output of "si viewproject --project=/Spielwiese/Test_NX2/test2/project.pj -Y" :

  test2_1/project.pj subproject

   share_test1/project.pj shared-subproject

     test1_1/project.pj subproject

     index.html.dk archived 1.1

     index.html.ee archived 1.1

     index.html.el archived 1.1

   test2_1_1/project.pj subproject

     index.html archived 1.1

   index.html.ca archived 1.1

I can see that "share_test1" is a share and "test1_1" is a child of it.

The output in xml with "si viewproject --project=/Spielwiese/Test_NX2/test2/project.pj -R --xmlapi" is attached to this posting.

In this xml-output i can see, in one workitem-element that share_test1 is a shared-subproject. The next element of type "Workitem" is test1_1, but it is shown as subproject. But this workitem-element is parallel to share_test1 and also to test2_1_1. How can i see which workitem is a childproject from another?

Thanks, Jens

How to fetch rich-text using Java API?

Hi all,

I hope this is a simple question to answe!

When I process a WorkItem that I obtained from running an "im viewissue" command, I'm given the options to pull primitive data types such as String, Boolean etc.

I'm trying to get some of the HTML formatting that is available within the Integrity Client, including bold font and tables. Is there a method for doing this using the Java API?

Many thanks,

Rich

mks java api connection error

Hello

I am trying to connect to Mks using the mks java api and encounter the Connection refused: connect error.

I am using the following code

{

    IntegrationPointFactory ipf = IntegrationPointFactory.getInstance();
CmdRunner cmdRunner;
Response resp = null;try{cmdRunner = ipf.createLocalIntegrationPoint(4, 10)
.getCommonSession().createCmdRunner();
Command cmd = new Command(Command.SI, "about");
resp = cmdRunner.execute(cmd);}catch (APIException e) {System.
out.println("Error " + e.getMessage());resp = e.getResponse(); }

}

to connect at mks client (I am using MKS Integrity Client 2009) and I encounter  the following error

{

  Connection refused: connect

}

How can I improove the above code in order to successfully connect to mks and skyp the error ?

Best regards,

Possible to do conditional formatting in Word using "Reference Mode" field value?

$

Hi everyone,

We use the Integrity Gateway to export document content to Word, and users are requesting conditional formatting based on the content item's Reference Mode value.

For example, if the content is "Author" or "Reuse" it should display one way, with certain fields, in Word. But if the content item is in "Share" mode, it should display slightly different fields, or use different format.

I've tried both of these if clauses, to no avail (item is either completely ignored for output, or just defaults to the other conditional format).

<%elseif ( {Category} == "Feature") and  ( {Reference Mode } == "2" ) %>

<%elseif ( {Category} == "Feature") and  ( {Reference Mode } == "Share" ) %>

The "Reference Mode" value can be output into a Word document, but it seems like you can't use it in logical comparisons. Just wanted to see if anyone else has tried this.

Thanks in advance.

Christine

MS Project integration - Resource Names not working

$

Hello,

I'm trying to synchronize some content between PTC-Integrity and MS Project.

Everytime I try to synchronize the "Assigned User" of an Integrity-Taks with the the "Resource Names" field of a MS Project-Task the resource is added to the project but NOT assigned to the Task. How can this happen?

I feel like it was working when I started to work on the mapping but I'm not sure and going back to the starting point with the mapping does not make any difference...

My log:

Command: dm mapitem --map=AAAAAAAAAA MS Project Mapping --action=put --integration=MKSProjectTemplate-1:635254522220646454 ISSUE:3 Task.MKS Issue:2092215

Entering IssueHelper.synchronizeItems()

Retrieving updates for task linked to 2092215

Leaving IssueHelper.synchronizeItems()

Creating 0 new tasks ...

Updating Task 2 with field Task.Resource Names, value <mksUserName>

Assigning resource name: <mksUserName>

Resource <mksUserName> already exists.  Re-assigning user <Lastname, Firstname>

Appending resourceUnits to resource: 100

Updating resource: <Lastname, Firstname>[100%,R]

Updating Task 2 with field Task.Work, value 54

Updating Task 2 with field Task.Finish, value

Updating Task 2 with field Task.Name, value My Test Task IM 2 MPP

Updating Task 2 with field Task.Notes, value my desc

Updating Task 2 with field Task.MKS Issue Type, value Task

Updating Task 2 with field Task.MKS Issue, value 2092215

Leaving resyncSelected_Click...

Coresponding mapping part:

   <field external="Task.Resource Names"

    internal="Assigned User"

direction="out"

value-translation-type="string-string"/>

I'm using Integrity 10.1 Server with 10.3 Client and MS Project Standard 2003.

Is somebody doing the same and it is working fine?

Has somebody an idea why this is not working for me?

best regards
