Design suggession - Additional value based on multi value picklist

Hello!,

On my Item, I have multi value picklist. I need to store one more value for each selected value in multi value picklist.

Example - My Item has field called connections (multi value pick). Options in connections are 2 pin, 3 pin, 5 pin, 7 pin...so on...Now I have to store how many of each selected connections are available for Item, like 2 pin - 10, 3 pin -1 and 5 pin 2.

Here connection option picklist is static with 7 values and it will be growing in future (not frequently changed). We do not need much information about it, so instead of IBPL, I have setup it as static.

Per my understanding only option I see is that, I setup another type with 3 fields to store 1 additional value for selected values from picklist.

Any other design suggessions?
